Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series Returns in Person for 2021
14th annual event features regional talent and 20+ live shows across Downtown Bellevue
From October 6-10, the Bellevue Downtown Association (BDA) is bringing together top regional talent to Downtown Bellevue at the 14th Annual Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series. Featured artists Ray Vega, Thomas Marriott, Roy McCurdy, and Lady A will perform at the Meydenbauer Center Theatre and other local talent will be showcased at various venues across Downtown Bellevue.
Mike Ogliore, VP of Events at the Bellevue Downtown Association, said his team is eager to bring back in-person shows for the community. Last year, the BDA produced the 5-day music series completely virtual.
“We’re excited to return to in-person shows this year,” Ogliore said. “We want to support our local musicians and music venues, especially now, after what’s been an incredibly difficult year."
In order to protect the health and safety of the community, the Bellevue Downtown Association will require proof of vaccine or a negative COVID-19 test for entry to the Meydenbauer Center shows. Masks will also be required for audiences inside the theatre.
Downtown Bellevue remains a key part of this year’s music experience. Live performances will take place at an array of local restaurants and public spaces. Attendees are encouraged to grab dinner from a local restaurant and watch a performance. Participating live music venues include Bake's Place Bar & Bistro, El Gaucho, AC Hotel Bellevue by Marriott, Lincoln Square North and South, Resonance at SOMA Towers, The Bellevue Arts Museum and Bellevue Place.
A Student Showcase featuring local high school and middle school jazz combos will take place at the Bellevue Arts Museum on October 10. This program highlights emerging talent in the Puget Sound area.
The 2021 Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series is supported by Amazon, the City of Bellevue and Microsoft, alongside media partner 425 Magazine.
