Farzi Café Opens First American Location in Downtown Bellevue

Downtown Bellevue’s reputation as a dining destination continues with the new opening of Farzi Café inside The Bellevue Collection -- This will be their first-ever location in the United States. Their menu items are a playful and creative take on Pan Indian cuisines while paying homage to authentic Indian flavors. Guests in Downtown Bellevue can expect dry-aged steaks, salmon, lambs, pawns, and more. Alongside their dishes will include a wide variety of cocktails to complement.

“The Farzi Café bars are places to see and be seen,” Farzi Café said. “Cocktails mirror the showy presentation of the food and environment. Inspirational to the senses and sensibilities, Farzi is a lush, whimsical showcase, gorgeous without being overwhelming.”

The Farzi Café concept was launched in 2014 by Zorawar Kalra, commonly known as the ‘Prince of Indian Cuisine.’ He has appeared as a judge on MasterChef India and is recognized as one of the most successful restaurateurs emanating from India. His launch in America is done with the help of franchise partner Amit Upadhyay, a local tech leader with real estate interest in Indian restaurants, hotel holdings, and children’s entertainment centers.

“We are thrilled to partner with the biggest and most acclaimed Indian cuisine brand Farzi Café. It’s exciting to finally launch the restaurant at the prime Bellevue Square inside the Bellevue Collection,” Upadhyay said.

Farzi Café currently has 20 locations worldwide and is best known as a modern Indian bistro that uses Indian spices and bold cooking techniques like molecular gastronomy. Their unique flavors has earned them countless prestigious awards, including the Times Food and Nightlife Award for Best Modern Indian Restaurant in 2017, the Best Restaurant Award at the BBC Good Food Awards Middle East in 2019, the Times Food and Nightlife Award for Best Global Cuisine in 2020 and a spot in the Michelin Guide lists Farzi Café London. After seeing much success at their London and Canada location, they hope to make a name for themselves in America.
