The Arts Market is a great way for these amazing artists show-off their incredible work. Get to know these artists better with this week's He(ART) of Bellevue spotlight featuring six exceptional artists who are excited to share their journeys with you.
Artisan Hardwood Creations
Artist: Bill Arter
What type of art do you create?
I create handmade wood products including boxes, vases, trays, bowls, cutting boards, bird feeders, clocks, and drink tables.
Where did you learn or develop your technique?
My grandfather taught me at a young age and throughout my life I learned by studying the work of other artists.
What is your latest project?
I'm currently working on vases and candle holders made from driftwood. I love the history of driftwood. It goes through a lot to get to the point where I find it and turn it into art.
What is something that you would like to share with the Bellevue community?

Dwiggins Illuminations
Artist: Eugene Dwiggins
What type of art do you create?
I create medieval illuminations.
Where do you draw inspiration from when creating your art?
I draw inspiration from medieval illuminated manuscripts from 9th Century Ireland.
What is your latest project?
I'm working on a twelve bird detail from Lindisfarne Gospels.
What is something that you would like to share with the Bellevue community?
See the images, not the medium.
FABRICATIONS
Artist: Paula Chang
What type of art do you create?
I create one-of-a-kind and limited edition fabric earrings with an Asian accent.
Where did you learn or develop your technique?
Originally, in the Bay Area, and now, not too far away from my Asian roots. As far a as development, I think that we are forever learning and developing.
Where do you draw inspiration from when creating your art?
I draw inspiration from the colors within the fabric to whatever I admire in nature that lends to creating a balance within the final piece.
What is something that you would like to share with the Bellevue community?
I have new colors and new fabrics for the summer and fall.
Marcella Kriebel Art + Illuminations
Artist: Marcella Kriebel
What type of art do you create?
I make watercolor and sell a variety of goods featuring my vibrant designs including art for your wall, kitchen towels and greeting cards
Where did you learn or develop your technique?
I learned watercolor through hours and hours of practice. I hold an studio art degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon
What is your latest project?
I am currently working on a lot of new circular shaped watercolor pieces, I love the unique shape.
What is something that you would like to share with the Bellevue community?
I would love to share how the beauty and joy of creating colorful, feminine watercolor has helped me with a daily battle of depression.

What type of art do you create?
I create original oil paintings.
How long have you been practicing your type of art?
I have been practicing for over 40 years.
Where do you draw inspiration from when creating your art?
I draw inspiration from city and landscape images from my world around me.
What is something that you would like to share with the Bellevue community?
The youngest of six boys from a family of twelve, I found art to be my serenity

What type of art do you create?
I create artisan jewelry.
Where do you draw inspiration from when creating your art?
I draw inspiration from tribal jewelry.
What is your latest project?
I'm working in solid gold.
What is something that you would like to share with the Bellevue community?
I create one of a kind hand fabricated jewelry from silver and gold that is reminiscent of medieval times.
