Over the last few years, Seattle has been making a name for itself in the craft beer industry, something that we think is pretty exciting. The more beer, the better, right? What a lot of people don't realize is that you don't have to scope out some hipster bar in Seattle (read: spend 40 minutes trying to find a parking spot) to experience the best that this area has to offer in craft brewing.
As we 12s gear up for football season, many of us are looking for the hottest spots to grab a nice cold beer and experience the best of game-day! We've done the work, now all you have to do is take your jersey off the hanger and bring a few friends along.
Bellevue Brewing Company
Based right here in Bellevue, Bellevue Brewing Company has been making quite a name for itself with its easy-to-drink and classic beers. Our current favourite is the Scotch Ale - a rich, full-bodied caramel beer with hints of cashew, hazelnut and toffee. Unknown to many residents, Bellevue Brewing Company also has a taproom with a decent-sized menu of classic pub favourites and comfort food such as Smoked Ribs, Northwest Gumbo and Street Tacos. Come here if you're looking for a no-fuss, high quality, local-to-Bellevue experience.
Henry's Tavern
The new kid in town! Henry's Tavern is set to open in the Lincoln Square Expansion on August 30th, just in time for regular season games to start! We think that the most important feature of Henry's is that it features 100 beer taps. We'll say it again in case you didn't hear it the first time... there will be 100 beers on tap with an extensive selection of local, regional, and international beers and hard ciders.
Additional features include a stellar patio (with views of Downtown Bellevue!), a custom frost rail at the bar to keep your drinks cold, and state-of-the-art TVs and shuffleboards.
Henry's will bring its signature comfort foods, such as the Hand-seasoned Gorgonzola Waffle Fries, but will also be trying out some more health-conscious food items such as protein bowls. Whatever your taste, you can guarantee that Henry's will have something you're looking for. We can't wait for this newest Eastside addition and we can already imagine many game-days enjoyed here.
Paddy Coyne's
Paddy Coyne's “all day menu” offers traditional Irish favorites including Guinness Braised Irish Beef Stew, homemade Shepherd’s Pie and Dublin Coddle. Along with an extensive Irish whiskey and Scotch collection, imported beers and some local brew, the restaurant offers a full, varied drink menu including a “must experience” authentic Irish Coffee.
Paddy Coyne's is very conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Bellevue in Lincoln Square. It's casual, low-key environment is the perfect place to enjoy great conversations and hearty pub fare. Check them out the next time you're looking for the perfect pint. (Bonus: they also have Irish music live, every Wednesday).
Tavern Hall
Tavern Hall is one of Downtown Bellevue's most popular destinations. With over 30 flatscreen TVs located throughout the two different bar areas and the dining room, this is the perfect place to catch every game - college, pro, and more! Even better, for big games, Tavern Hall introduces special event menus!
Beer cocktails are a relatively new idea and we don't know why they aren't more popular - the good news is that you can try one at Tavern Hall! Their Yakima Sling has a mix of Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Grapefruit, Lime, Cinnamon, and Bale Breaker Top Cutter IPA. If you've never tried a beer cocktail before, here's your excuse!
Local Burger
Local Burger is located in the heart of Old Bellevue and brings a sustainable concept to burgers. It sources all of its ingredients from within 360 miles of the restaurant including its beer! With 24 taps of local beers and ciders, Local Burger will introduce you to some new favourites as well as some local favourites such as Mannys Pale Ale, Mac & Jacks African Amber and Elysian's Spacedust IPA.
Local Burger's also has incredible burgers, surprise surprise. We love the Nice Knowin' Ya Burger - about the biggest burger we've ever seen and has an onion ring in the middle! - and the Banh Mi Burger - a different twist with cilantro and daikon slaw. We've heard a rumour around town that Seahawks players stop by here on occasion so keep an eye out during your next visit!
Friendly PSA: friends don’t let friends drive drunk. All of our friendly local bartenders and servers are more than happy to call you a cab if you need it.
