Keep Your Young Ones Entertained and Engaged with KidsQuest’s Online Pivot
For kids, summer doesn't have to be a bummer this year! While many camps and childcare programs are canceled due to the pandemic, KidsQuest Children's Museum has innovated to help families balance screen time and get rid of the “I’m bored” muttered around the house.
KidsQuest signature approach provides hands-on, interactive activities that focus engagement on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Their doors may be temporarily closed for now, but their efforts to support the community and local families during these trying times have resulted in creative ways to help kids stay entertained and at play.
Home Play Options
While the museum is closed, you can easily bring inspired activities to the comfort of your own home. KidsQuest is providing families with at-home activities suitable for children of all ages: they offer four different options that include the play bundle and play bundle deluxe, remote learning kits in Spanish and English, and a summer playbook. These bundles also include a Toy Library featuring over 60 museum favorites!
Virtual Learning
KidsQuest staff also created new opportunities to learn and connect online by introducing a Virtual Story Time and creating a library of learning videos focused on STEAM concepts, called HomeQuest. There are over 20 HomeQuest videos dedicated to teaching children through age 10 design, math, science, and art concepts, all with items that are easily accessible from around the house. Virtual Storytime and HomeQuest are available on KidsQuest’s YouTube channel, with new videos added each weekday.
Supporting the Community
KidsQuest is no stranger to giving back to the community, especially during the pandemic. They partnered with Glowforge to create “ear savers” for over 400 local essential workers. These custom pieces help provide added mask comfort for dedicated essential workers who are keeping our community running.
With over 600 Remote Learning Kits donated to families in need, KidsQuest continues to support the community and bring joy to children and families during these trying times. Check out their website for more information on these programs or to see how you can support their work.
