New Art Installation by Sarah Robbins Unveiled at Meydenbauer Center

Meydenbauer Center and Visit Bellevue unveiled the installation of a vibrant new piece of public art from local artist Sarah Robbins. Located adjacent to the new Bellevue Downtown Light Rail Station and steps from the Bellevue Transit Hub, the new artwork on the exterior of the 54,000 square-foot convention center (11100 NE 6th Street) serves as a stunning visual entrance to the city's thriving downtown core.

"As Bellevue continues to grow and welcome visitors from around the world, Sarah Robbins' art installation stands as a vibrant gateway to our city." said Tim Carr, CEO of the Bellevue Center Convention Authority. "The piece weaves in the histories and contributions of the Japanese and Ukrainian communities that shape Bellevue’s vibrant multi-cultural identity, while celebrating the harmony between the city’s urban growth and natural beauty.”

"The new public art project represents the pulse of Bellevue - where diverse cultures, cutting-edge technology, and natural splendor converge," said Brad Jones, Executive Director of Visit Bellevue. “It is poised to welcome and inspire a new generation of Light Rail passengers, Meydenbauer Center guests, and all visitors to explore our vibrant destination, steps away from world class shopping, dining, entertainment, and hospitality."

Artist Sarah Robbins, a celebrated muralist and illustrator based in West Seattle, has activated spaces and brought creative visions to life throughout the region. She graduated from Corcoran College of Art + Design with a BFA in Fine Art before moving to Seattle to create vibrant public art.
