New Year, New City Council
The City Council elected John Chelminiak as Mayor and Lynne Robinson as Deputy Mayor yesterday evening at the City Council Study Session. Both the mayoral and deputy mayoral positions are two-year terms.
Newly elected Councilmembers Jared Nieuwenhuis and Janice Zahn participated in the vote. Both members were elected last November, with Councilmember Nieuwenhuis replacing Position 4 previously held by Kevin Wallace and Councilmember Zahn replacing Position 5 previously held by Ernie Simas.
