Get Inspired, Stay on Target!
When your “Near Year, New Me” ambition starts to wear off, avoid the notorious New Year slump with these health and wellness suggestions to crank your motivation into high gear. Whether you prefer to jog through an urban refuge or practice your plank at home, the #HeartofBellevue has plenty of opportunities to help move your resolutions off the back burner!
Join a (Virtual) Fitness Class
Lace up your sneakers for an onsite appointment or shove your kitchen table aside and stream virtual cardio, resistance and hybrid training sessions. Several fitness studios and gyms are open for virtual sessions, including: bStrong Bellevue, Pure Barre, Elevate Fit Life, Barre3, Sweat Circuit Bellevue, TruFusion Bellevue, CorePower Yoga, RepRoom (formerly CrossFit Amped), Nancy Wallace Pilates, The Ashram Yoga Bellevue, and 23 Fit Club. Newcomer discounts and other bargain deals on virtual memberships and course bundles are also widely offered so a little sleuthing online before you register could be worth your while!
Stroll the Downtown Park Track
Whether a power walk, light stroll or a spirited sprint, a local and convenient option like the Downtown Park circuit has ample space with its half-mile circuit and ten-acre lawn for everyone to move and groove! If the kids are feeling a bit stir-crazy inside, spend an afternoon burning off some energy at the Inspiration Playground just around the corner!
Romp around Ashwood Playfield
Grab a leash and saddle up your furry companion for a jaunt around the athletic field across from the Bellevue Public Library. There's plenty of room to play fetch or kick a ball around. Abundant free parking is located outside and in the covered garage across the street. Disability accommodations available.
Visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden
Stretch your legs, pump some fresh air into those lungs and soak in the scenic beauty sprawling across 53 acres of cultivated gardens, restored woodlands, and natural wetlands. Escape the hustle and bustle in the city and raise your heart rate all at once! The Bellevue Botanical Garden is open dawn to dusk, daily.
Explore Local Hiking Trails
Venture out a little further and lose yourself in nature on a trek through the evergreen wilderness! Strap on some sturdy boots and choose from any number of certified trails discoverable in your own backyard. With approximately 92 miles of multi-recreational terrain to explore, there is no shortage of ground to cover!
