Yassi Jazayeri is a real estate mogul like no other. As the founder and CEO of her own team within Keller Williams Realty, Yassi and Associates, she boasts access to some of the most coveted listings on the Eastside. After nearly 10 years in the business, she is more than familiar with the ins and outs of life in Bellevue and how the right home can change someone’s life. We spoke with Yassi about her experience as a woman in real estate, her continued aspirations, and how her career aligns with what the city of Bellevue has to offer.

What inspired you to pursue a career in real estate?

My journey into real estate was fueled by a deep-seated passion for community and architecture. From a young age, I was captivated by the way buildings and spaces could shape the lives of those who inhabited them. I always aspired to study architectural engineering in college, but I realized I didn't have the eye for it. However, I knew I had the spirit of a businesswoman.

When I purchased and remodeled my first home, I discovered the potential of creating wealth through real estate. This experience opened my eyes to an opportunity many people are unaware of. I became driven to educate others about this potential, inspiring me to pursue a career in real estate. My goal is not only to build wealth through real estate but also to help others achieve the same financial success.

You have recently been named Operating Partner and controlling owner of Keller Williams Realty Bellevue. What does this career step mean for your personal future goals and those of the franchise?

This is a significant milestone in my career - this role allows me to influence and shape the future of the franchise in profound ways, aligning it with my vision and goals. It enables me to implement innovative strategies, foster a culture of excellence, and mentor the next generation of real estate professionals. I am passionate about empowering others and helping them achieve their full potential, and this role gives me the resources and authority to do so on a larger scale.

There are so many incredible homes throughout the Puget Sound region – why did you choose to establish yourself in Bellevue?

Bellevue is one of the fastest-growing cities in the Puget Sound, with a robust economy and a thriving business community. This growth is driven by a strong tech presence, with major companies like Microsoft and Amazon having significant operations here, which attracts a highly skilled workforce and boosts the local economy. Bellevue also boasts excellent infrastructure, top-rated schools, and a high quality of life, making it a highly desirable place to live. The city’s beautiful parks, vibrant downtown, and proximity to outdoor recreational activities appeal to a diverse range of homebuyers. This diversity in the real estate market provides ample opportunities to cater to various clients, from young professionals to families and retirees.

Have you faced any challenges as a woman in real estate and if so, what have you done to overcome them? 

While the real estate industry has seen a significant increase in female representation, challenges can still arise. One challenge I’ve encountered is navigating the diverse expectations and perceptions that come with being a woman in a leadership role. To overcome these, I’ve focused on demonstrating my expertise and commitment through tangible results. Building a strong track record and fostering trust with clients and colleagues have been key strategies. I’ve also actively sought mentorship and engaged with other women leaders to gain insights and support. By staying focused on my goals and supporting others along the way, I’ve been able to turn these challenges into stepping stones for success. and while there have been challenges, they’ve also been opportunities for growth and transformation. 

Why should potential buyers/sellers select you to be their agent? How would you describe your approach to the process? 

My approach to the process is client-centered and results-driven. I take the time to understand each client's unique needs and goals, whether they are buying their first home, looking to invest, or selling a property. This personalized attention allows me to tailor my strategies and provide solutions that align perfectly with their objectives.

Our team has the best interest of our clients at heart and always strives to do what is best for them, even if it’s not the easiest path. We prioritize clear and consistent communication, keeping our clients informed at every step of the process. Our goal is to make the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible by proactively addressing any concerns and navigating any challenges that arise. Additionally, we leverage the latest technology and market insights to provide our clients with a competitive edge. From comprehensive market analyses to innovative marketing strategies, we ensure that our clients are well-equipped to make informed decisions.

What is your favorite part of working in Downtown Bellevue? 

My favorite part of working in Downtown Bellevue is its vibrant and dynamic energy. The downtown core is a thriving hub of activity, blending urban sophistication with community spirit. The mix of cutting-edge businesses, top-notch dining, and cultural attractions creates an inspiring and motivating environment.

What are your go-to spots in Downtown Bellevue? Give us some insider tips for the best shopping, eats, and more! 

Downtown Bellevue has so many fantastic spots that it's hard to pick just a few! For shopping, I always recommend The Bellevue Collection. It includes Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square, and Bellevue Place, offering everything from luxury brands to unique boutiques. It’s a shopper’s paradise with a wide range of options for everyone.

Some of my favorite dining spots include Bird Pepper Thai Restaurant for flavorful Thai dishes, Central Bar and Restaurant for a great mix of comfort food and a lively atmosphere, Japonessa for excellent sushi, and Din Tai Fung for their renowned soup dumplings. For coffee, Café Cesura is a cozy spot with excellent brews and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for a fun night out, Civility & Unrest and Living Room are great bars with unique cocktails and a lively vibe.

For a bit of relaxation, the Bellevue Downtown Park is an oasis in the city and Meydenbauer Bay Park is fantastic for waterfront views.

How would you like to see Downtown Bellevue grow over the next few years? 

I’d love to see Downtown Bellevue continue its dynamic growth while maintaining the qualities that make it so special. I hope to see further development in sustainable and innovative building practices. Expanding green spaces and enhancing eco-friendly infrastructure would align with Bellevue’s commitment to sustainability and improve the overall quality of life for residents and visitors. Additionally, continuing to support a vibrant mix of local businesses, alongside major retail and dining options, would keep Downtown Bellevue a lively and unique destination.

How do you stay active and involved within the Bellevue community? 

I engage in various ways to contribute and support the local area. I’m actively involved with the Bellevue Downtown Association (BDA) and local Chamber of Commerce, regularly attending their meetings and events, which keeps me connected with the latest developments and opportunities within the downtown area. I participate in Bellevue Rotary meetings and am working on becoming a member. This involvement provides me with valuable opportunities to connect with other community-minded individuals and contribute to local initiatives and service projects.
