Places to Pose: Take a Scenic Tour Around Downtown
If months of hunkering down to weather the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that getting out (and safely) exploring our city is an underrated tonic for the pandemic blues. And if you’re spending increased time on social media, it’s a reminder that capturing joyful moments can always be a worthwhile pursuit.
Though the world outside your window may seem a little bleak (not to mention prematurely dark, thanks to Daylight Savings time), we can still discover happiness even in the most unlikely places. As the holidays fast approach, step outside with your masks on and explore all the merriment and wonder hidden in plain sight around your community.
Below are a few particularly scenic places - some lesser known, others crowd-favorites - to shoot a memorable family portrait or your next profile picture while sporting Heart of Bellevue pride. Scope them out for yourself:
Colorful Hues at the W Hotel Staircase
Visit the illuminated staircases in the main foyer of the W Hotel. You'll find hand-drawn and painted artistry that spans the entire staircase walls. It's one of the most photographed spots in the Heart of Bellevue, and for good reason: it's stunning.
Location:
10455 NE 5th Pl, Bellevue, WA 98004
BAM's "Red Wall"
Nothing screams candid photo-op louder than an expansive, colorful wall. Thankfully, the Bellevue Arts Museum has a perfect one to include on your selfie radar. Plus, the sidewalk is lined with trees decked out in twinkle lights. We've seen our fair share of profile pics being made here.
Location:
510 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA 98004
From the Ground-Up at Brio
Out of inspiration? Vivid architecture and abstract sculptures are model sceneries for that picturesque snapshot. Lean into your curiosity and seek out reflective surfaces like the glass-paneled buildings at Brio Apartments for a bold, asymmetrical backdrop - it's sure to give you a distinctive, compelling photo.
Location:
11130 NE 10th St, Bellevue, WA 98004
The Grand Connection
Take in the seasonal foliage and check out the lights… this pedestrian walkway is a quaint walk through the middle of the city. Spanning from Bellevue Transit Center to Bellevue Square, before continuing to Meydenbauer Bay Park, you can snap some shots of the Heart of Bellevue’s best views.
Location:
NE 6th St, Bellevue, WA 98004
The Vistas of Meydenbauer Bay Park
With a gorgeous pier over the water, take in the views and set up your family photos at this waterfront retreat. Catch it on a sunny day and you’ll have an iconic photo filled with the natural backdrop of our region’s beauty. PS: this is a great spot for engagement photos…
