Plan a Walkable Winter Evening in the Heart of Bellevue

Winter is creeping in and while many choose to stay indoors, we have another idea... The festive season is the perfect excuse to head into the Heart of Bellevue and explore winter activities like the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink presented by Symetra, held right in the picturesque Downtown Park. 

Whether it's getting a sitter and going on a cocktails + skate date, or wrangling the kids for Snowflake Lane followed by a family night on ice... there are plenty of options! Here's our guide to a fun-filled, walkable evening in Downtown Bellevue.

Dinner for Every Occasion

Dinner is always recommended to keep your energy going. For a date night for two, find a personal and intimate setting at Rouge Cocktail Lounge for small sips and bites. Stop in during happy hour from 4-6 p.m., where they'll serve unique drinks like Bee’s Knees that are worth a try! For those on a family night out, pizza is the ultimate shareable. Mercato Stellina Pizzeria serves up classic Italian brick oven pizza that will please even the pickiest of eaters. Be sure to make a reservation in advance! 

Shop Big, Shop Local

There’s always time for a little shopping, especially during the most festive time of year. Before the skating, head to Old Bellevue and shop local! Try a bite of chocolate with your date at Fran's, pick out some holiday party decor with Hedge & Vine, or find a matching pair of sweaters at La Ree Boutique. Looking for more at a bigger scale? The Bellevue Collection is a short walk away with dozens of stores to explore.

Snowflake Lane

Snowflake Lane produced by The Bellevue Collection is a celebration you won't want to miss. Located up the street from the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink, you'll get a full holiday show with falling snow, festive lights and a parade of holiday floats. The nightly parade happens every day at 7 p.m. now through Dec. 24. After the show, consider walking down Bellevue Way for some late-night ice skating.

Top off Your Night with Ice Cream

The grand finale to the night calls for a sweet dessert. Swing by Molly Moon's Bellevue Flagship on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and get a free topping when you show your ice skating pass or bracelet. Even better, they're open late until 10pm! Choose your favorite flavor, share a scoop and cherish the memories.
