Ring in The Year of the Snake at The Bellevue Collection

The Year of the Snake has arrived, ushering in a period signifying wisdom and intuition. For those looking to celebrate this time of renewal, The Bellevue Collection is hosting its annual Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring live performances, a Lion and Dragon Parade, and hands-on activities for the whole family.

Bellevue Square will be outfitted with vibrant red and gold decor denoting good luck and prosperity, displays of traditional garb, and large cherry blossom trees creating a truly immersive experience. Hanging dragons will fill the space along with an interactive screen showcasing traditions from Chinese New Year, Vietnamese New Year (Tết), and Korean New Year (Seollal). 

Bellevue Square Center Court will come alive with the sights and sounds of live music, dance, and martial arts performances throughout the whole day. Visitors seeking hands-on experiences can take advantage of arts and crafts tables teaching techniques of Chinese calligraphy and traditional knot tying. The mall will also be outfitted with three augmented reality photo booths for unique photo-ops to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

This Lunar New Year event is made possible through partnerships with the Seattle Chinese Culture and Arts Association (SCCAA) and The Overseas Community Affairs Council and Republic of China (Taiwan).
