Support Local Artists This Holiday Season

Support Local Artists This Holiday Season
Perhaps now more than ever, it's crucial to support our local artists and musicians. Art adds expression and beauty to our lives, and we believe it's essential to our community. The Bellevue Downtown Association was proud to support Artists Sunday on November 29, 2020, an art-focused shopping day that celebrates artists and craftspeople and helps local artists sell more of their work. We encourage you to shop with your favorite artists and craftsmen during this holiday season!
There are many ways to support our local artists:
Discover new artists from Artists Sunday
Artists Sunday is a nationwide art-shopping movement with more than 3,800 members. Although Nov. 29 was one day, we encourage you to continue shopping with artists and give something special, unique, and hand-crafted this holiday season. Artists and art organizations across the country are hosting events and promotions to engage with consumers nationwide and encourage them to “shop art” for the holidays. Find local Bellevue artists participating by typing in "Bellevue, Washington" in the artist search directory.
Support past 6th Street Arts Fair Artists
Every summer we gather in the heart of Downtown Bellevue for the annual 6th Street Arts Fair. More than 100 artists display their work in an open-air showcase of sculpture, jewelry, home décor, wood and glass work, fabrics and more. Browse the artwork and portfolios of these artists from Bellevue, WA and beyond.
Follow the he(ART) of Bellevue blog series
As an alternative to this year's 6th Street Arts Fair, the BDA – in partnership with Amazon - featured local artists through a blog series: he(ART) of Bellevue. Discover the background and passion behind several local artists, and find out what inspires them to keep creating during a pandemic.
Support Bellevue's Local Musicians
Although our Summer Music Series and Jazz & Blues Music Series are over, you can still support the artists. Re-watch the shows on our Replay page and Artists pages. Follow their personal pages, leave a "virtual tip" on their Venmo or PayPal account, or even buy an album from their website.
With the holiday season here, now is the time to consider something unique, personal, and creative for the most important people in our lives. The Bellevue Downtown Association is proud to support local artists and participate in Artists Sunday this November 29, 2020 and beyond. We hope you’ll join us supporting passionate and talented artists this weekend!
The Season of Cheer presented by Symetra is part of the Heart of Bellevue: our campaign to showcase local businesses while connecting you with stories of activity, creativity and recovery. Find out about our campaign and explore more of what’s happening around Downtown.
