What Not to Miss… Your Pre-Season Holiday Guide
With Bellevue’s Magic Season right around the corner, we’ve got a jam-packed arrangement of upcoming events, celebrations and activities to ring in the holidays and round out the year. Whether you’re looking to celebrate with the kids or plan a festive date night, Downtown has you covered! Read on for an express preview of what not to miss and when to mark your calendars:
Downtown Ice Rink
Get your mittens out and your skates ready (but don’t worry, you can rent them too), Downtown’s famous Ice Rink returns with opening day on November 29th. Featuring a covered rink for all-weather skating and a heated viewing area with concessions, you can skate your heart away and stay warm, satisfied and ready for another round. Bring the family, or maybe even a first date – well, depending on your skating skills, that is. The Ice Rink operates daily through January 20th, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. RSVP on Facebook to stay up to date!
Snowflake Lane
An unmistakable Bellevue tradition, Snowflake Lane transforms Bellevue Way into a fantastical holiday celebration, complete with falling snow (really!) and nightly performances at 7pm. With shows every evening from November 29th through Christmas Eve, it’s no wonder Bellevue was named The Most Festive Town in America by The Huffington Post. Catch the festivities and take in the lights, music and nightly snowfall for the ultimate Bellevue holiday experience.
Holiday Performances at Meydenbauer Center
From classical performances of The Nutcracker to KNKX’s Holiday Jam, Meydenbauer Center has a full lineup of holiday shows and events spanning the entire season. Want to change things up this year? Grab tickets for Magical Strings’ A Celtic Yuletide on December 17th. Whatever your holiday style may be, check out Meydenbauer Center’s website for a full list of Magic Season events and ticketing information.
Seasonal Experiences Across Downtown
Downtown Bellevue doesn’t just celebrate with events and performances - quite the opposite, in fact! From Gingerbread Workshops for all ages to the Hilltop Holiday Craft Show, you can find plenty of activities to put you in the holiday mood. And don’t miss the Bellevue Botanical Garden’s yearly Garden d’Lights Festival, where countless strings of colorful lights transform the garden into a vibrant holiday display - happening November 30th through December 31st.
There’s no shortage of people to see and things to do during the holidays, but make sure to get your calendars marked with the Magic Season events you don’t want to miss. And fret not - weekends packed with friends, or hosting family this year? Better yet, bring your loved ones along… the more the merrier, after all!
